Introducing Andre and Andreana "Suki" Horton....

Tennis has Venus, Serena, James Blake, Mashona Washington and Jamea Jackson.

Hockey has Jarome Iginla.

Golf has Tiger Woods.

But who does skiing have, one might ask?

(From left to right: Suki Horton and Andre Horton)

Well, looks like Andre and Suki have been doing it big for a while now and the mainstream sports press is just now taking notice.

Born three years apart (big brother in 1979 and little sister in 1982) mom Elsena is white and dad Gerry is an African American in Alaska due to his military career. Andre's achievements include:

  • Alaska State Champion, 1998
  • 1st African-American skier selected to the U.S. Ski Team Development Program, 2000
  • 9th place overall finish in the U.S. Alpine National Championships, 2001
  • first African-American to win an FIS race in Europe, 2001
  • 4th place, NorAm Competition, 2001
  • 1st place, Mt. Bachelor's Northwest Cup Finals, 2001.
Suki's achievements include:

  • Alaska State Champion, 1998
  • U.S. Ski Team's Junior Development Group, 1997
  • Selected to compete in the U.S. Alpine National Championships three years in a row
  • 2nd place, Western Region Downhill FIS series, 2001.

So Nike golf clubs are good, but not...great?

They break in two when in contact with a gigantic tree, lol:

That would be Tiger hitting in the woods, as I mentioned in a previous post. You are supposed to avoid trees, water ways, and sand traps whilst in competition (well, you are supposed to avoid it always, actually) and I think Tiger may have visited 2 out of 3 a few times this tourney.

Not good.

'What the hell just happened?'*

Tiger tips his hat and bids farewell to a disappointing Masters performance

I say that to you, Tiger Woods, in regards to your failed attempt at winning your 5th green jacket.

(*=© Tiger Woods, said when a shot on the 17th hole went into a bunker, instead of on the green where it should have been. It's crazy the type of stuff the television cameras catch.)

He should just take the rest of the year off and hang out with his wife and (eventual) kid.

Tiger goes camping in the Woods

For the second time during this final round at the Masters, Tiger has ended up in the wooded area.

Which I found funny cause of his last name and all.

Go Tiger, I know you can still do it!

GET 'EM, TIGER!

The World Around Us is rooting for Tiger Woods, as he hunts for his 5th green jacket.
